Honeydew police are appealing to the community for information on a female suspect after she was allegedly involved in a robbery inside a taxi.
According to Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan, she was part of a group of robbers who pounced on their victim during her commute to Cosmo City from Ferreirasdorp.
The victim boarded her taxi and even felt comfortable as there were other female commuters inside at the time.
When the taxi proceeded in a different route with no communication among the passengers, she immediately became suspicious.
“One suspect grabbed the victim from behind as others stole her bank cards and cash. They assaulted the victim, leaving her hands tied up.
“The victim managed to make it to the police station to ask for help,” said Muthan.
Police are appealing for information on the female suspect who the victim was able to give details of her appearance. The suspect is believed to be in her early 30s and was communicating in Zimbabwean Ndebele.
