Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after vehicle knocks him over
KAYA SANDS – The pedestrian was stabilised at the scene and rushed to Helen Joseph Hospital for further care.
According to Werner Vermaak from the communications office of ER24, the pedestrian, believed to be between 30 and 40 years of age, was left in a serious condition when he was knocked down by a vehicle in Kaya Sands, north of Johannesburg on Thursday evening (04 July).
“At approximately 6.35pm, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man still lying in Homestead Road,” said Vermaak in a released statement.
When the medics assessed the patient, they found that he had sustained serious injuries.
Vermaak added that despite the severe damage to the vehicle, the driver did not sustain any injuries.
