OLIVEDALE – Netcare Olivedale Clinic erupts with World Cup Win fever


Netcare Olivedale Hospital had a severe case of Bok fever on the heels of the Rugby World Cup win.

South Africans have erupted in a frenzy of celebration since the Springboks’ victory in Japan. This glee has heightened since their return to these shores.

A day after the Boks began their trophy tour around the country, Olivedale staff paid homage to the Boks in a spirited display of patriotism. The celebration included a rendition of Shosholoza, the national anthem, dancing and enactments of a rugby scrum.

The occasion concluded with the majority of hospital staff engaged in a procession to the hospital’s car park where enthusiastic motorists hooted their support. A sea of scrubs, Springbok jerseys and cell phones added to the celebratory mood.
