Windsor Community Support Services beautifies Linden Police gardens

We have added the Linden Police Station into our normal monthly schedule, and every last Friday of the month, you will find our team hard at work in the station's gardens.

Windsor Community Support Services has decided to make it their monthly duty to help clean and maintain the gardens of the Linden Police Station.

“As 18 July was Mandela Day, we were looking forward to conducting a full clean-up of the station property with all the members of our team, but had to cancel due to unforeseen issues.

“We still wanted to honour our community and the men in blue who work so hard to protect us, so we agreed with the police to come and clean up their garden regularly,” said WCSS’ Mathabo Bekimbia-Tchoffo.

She added that since the lockdown began in March, very little attention was given to this area and much work had to be done. Her WCSS team members visited the station on 18 July ready to begin work to rejuvenate the station’s gardens. “We have added the Linden Police Station into our normal monthly schedule, and every last Friday of the month, you will find our team hard at work in the station’s gardens,” added Bekimbia-Tchoffo.

The WCSS team also wished to thank the Pikitup Randburg Depot who has agreed to supply the WCSS with refuse bags to use during these clean-ups every week.

“We would like to thank Ward 98 regional manager Auriel Kobola for going out of his way to get us bags and was very kind to drop off bags at our office. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Lesedi Molofe from Pikitup Waterval Depot, as she helped us with bags when there was a shortage at Randburg depot, even though we don’t fall under the Waterval Depot’s ward,” concluded Bekimbia-Tchoffo.
