One dead and several injured in a serious taxi crash in Randburg

RANDBURG – Two critially injured patients were airlifted by two EMS helicopters, the rest of the patients were transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital for further care.

Emer-G-med responded to a serious taxi crash in Randburg on 22 September.

According to Emer-G-Med team member, Caitlin Kruger, it was a single-vehicle accident where a taxi rolled and crashed at Aureole Street. “Several patients were involved, two of which were critically injured and airlifted by the Emergency Management Services (EMS) helicopters but one patient, unfortunately, died on the scene,” she explained.

“The rest of the patients excluding the two that were airlifted, were transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital for further care,” said Kruger.

All necessary authorities were on scene.
