RCCI president steps down ahead of annual general meeting

RANBURG – Outgoing RCCI president Danie Bezuidenhout bids the Company farewell in favour of a change in priorities.

The Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (RCCI) president Danie Bezuidenhout has recently stepped down ahead of the chamber’s annual general meeting. The RCCI has appointed Richard Ntjana as the acting president until the appointment of the new president in the third week of November.

The new president of the RCCI will be announced at the annual general meeting of the company for the year ended 31 July, on 18 November at the chamber’s offices at Atrium Terrace in Ferndale.
After Bezuidenhout stepped down from his role, he revealed that his decision to step down was three-fold.

“[I wanted to] give the board and new incoming president the opportunity to set sail without interference from the past president. Firstly, focus on my family – my wife has not been well and I needed to support her.

“The economy ended on a low last year, followed by the pandemic which has impacted most businesses. We have to plan extensively post Covid-19/2021 with a view to help our customers survive and prosper post Covid-19. The experts predict a gloomy economic future and our aim is to help as many businesses steer through this difficult yet important period and back into a growth phase.

“We have also embarked on a drive to help develop township businesses through coaching/mentorship to get formalised and showcase their services/goods in expanded consumer markets. The ultimate aim is to create sustainable businesses which will lead to job creation.”

Bezuidenhout concluded with words of encouragement for the future of the Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“I wish the chamber success in guiding their members and make a valuable contribution towards our economy.”
