Do you know of a D Malen from Randburg?
RANDBURG – The remains of a man believed to be a D Malen were found in Wales in 1979. It is believed he may have been from Randburg.
Investigators of Locate International would like help in piecing together information about a man whose remains were found in Wales back in 1979.
Skeletal remains of the man were found on the mountainside in Resolven, South Wales, United Kingdom.
Resolven is a small picturesque village and community in Neath Port Talbot county borough.
The man was believed to have been born amid the world wars and aged between 40 and 60 years old.
He was white, with short grey hair, a stocky build and was about 5ft 7 inches (170cm) to 5ft 9 inches (175cm) in height.
He wore a blue shirt and beige jumper with grey trousers (28 inches inside leg) and size eight shoes.
Distinctively, he had a peculiar gait. His right leg was fused and could not bend at the knee, this would have caused the man to walk with a limp.
In his possession was a Salvation New Testament bible with the name D Malen and address PO Box Randburg, Johannesburg, South Africa.
He also had a South African Airways timetable, a map of South Wales and West of England and headed notepaper from the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel were found near the body.
