Randpark Ridge trees tagged

RANDPARK RIDGE – The Randpark Ridge Village Association recently tagged trees in Hymany Park and others in the area with informative tags.

Why not take a weekend walk with your family through the beautiful parks of Randpark Ridge?

These parks are now even more enticing after Randpark Ridge Village Association (RRVA) recently tagged trees in Hymany Park and others in the area with informative tags.

There are some cork trees in the park that are more than 60 years old, as well as wild peach trees, river bushwillows, exotic weeping willows, white stinkwood and a variety of other plant and tree species.

The association’s Rod Rankine said this was an effort to help educate park-goers about indigenous and a few of the noteworthy exotic trees in their parks.
The initiative was conducted on a limited trial basis, with about 44 tags placed in total, to enrich their parks as part of their re-wilding and beautification programme.

“We hope that by improving the experience of being in our parks, we will attract more residents to use the parks. This in turn makes our parks safer for all and will hopefully entice more residents to become involved in joining RRVA in caring for our parks,” said Rankine.
He encouraged park visitors to remain safe and vigilant while using parks in the area.
