Cosmo Mall gives back
COSMO CITY – Community members are encouraged to do their part for Mandela Day and are rewarded for their actions.
A Mandela Day initiative culminated in Cosmo Mall making hamper donations to members of the community who themselves made a difference.
The mall’s marketing manager, Katlego Lauren, explained that a campaign was run from July 18 to 25 which encouraged community members to upload photos of the community work they did on Facebook and tag the mall and #Mandeladay.

This was at a significant time when the province was experiencing unrest.
“Each year Cosmo Mall (owned by The Bentel Group) commits to giving back to those in need in almost all our events, Mandela Day which has always been an important initiative to us was no different, despite the current downturn in the economy we still celebrate our community,” Lauren said.
“Sponsored prizes from Roots Butchery, Vodacom and Laurelle London were the giveaways, mainly focused on groceries, airtime and toiletries which are essentials that most of our community battles to afford.”
Nine winners from the community were picked at random and personally thanked by Cosmo Mall management.
“Though it is such a small gesture, we believe all the winners are extremely grateful. We would like to thank all our sponsors for making this initiative a success and we look forward to working together further,” Lauren concluded.
