WINDSOR EAST – Food parcels are provided to community members in need in Windsor.

Community members in Windsor are receiving relief through a feeding programme organised by Windsor Community Support Services.

On August 13, people lined up for food parcels which were distributed by volunteers at Windsor East Recreation Centre.

“There will be 70 food parcels handed out today, and this is the second time we are doing this,” said the non-profit organisation’s Mathabo Bekimbia-Tchoffo, as she took a break from registering those who came to receive food.

“Last month we did it specifically for the homeless and now we are doing it for residents. We register them so those that came last month do not come today. There is a lot of need in Windsor and we try to help as many as we can.”

Bekimbia-Tchoffo added that Windsor East was once a beautiful suburb and her organisation aims to make it so again.
