Douglasdale Business and Residents Forum wishes residents a happy festive season
DOUGLASDALE– Mottram urged members of the community to continue working together, have gratitude and respect for the neighbourhood.
The chairperson of Douglasdale Business and Residents Forum (DBRF), Susan Mottram and board members have wished residents of Douglasdale a Merry Christmas and joyous festive season.
Mottram said the Douglasdale community proved this year that working together could help take the area forward.
“DBRF has witnessed an incredible outreach of generosity from our Douglasdale community recently with regards to the reinstatement of one of the verge gardens that was damaged and 30% of the plants, amounting to thousands of rands, removed by contractors. The community pulled together in a positive way with words and acts of encouragement, donations and support on our restoration and restitution day on 20 November 2021,” Mottram said.

She urged members of the community to continue working together, have gratitude and respect for the neighbourhood.
“Let’s hold on to that generosity, let’s have gratitude and respect for the neighbourhood we live in and the people we live amongst. In fact, let’s celebrate that as we remember all the good things that the festive messages bring us.”
Mottram added the deputy chairperson of DBRF, Ruth Fleming was her hero and described her as a gift to the Douglasdale community.
“Ruth and I met each other 13 years ago when we both joined a Douglasdale Community Police Forum meeting under then Brigadier Jenny Naidoo. I call Ruth the gift that just keeps giving. She is a stalwart; consistent in her generosity and unflagging in her support. She handles most of the admin for the DBRF and isn’t scared to get her hands dirty. She gets stuck in at every community clean-up event we host.”
