Protest action at SuperSPAR Eagle Canyon today
Police are on scene and will monitor the situation.
The EFF is holding a protest action at SuperSPAR Eagle Canyon today (May 11).
Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said members of the police’s crime prevention unit and crowd control unit are on scene.
“Things are calm for now, nothing really serious going on there,” he said.
“Further information received is that it is a labour dispute between SPAR and labour and police are there to observe and make sure no injuries or no crime takes place.”
Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) public relations officer Michael Steyn confirmed the protest is underway and no violent incidents have been reported yet.
