Stop human trafficking
Love Justice International informs the community about human trafficking dangers.
Linden Community Policing Forum Victim Support gathered at the Linden Police Station’s hall, joined by Fairland and Honeydew Victim Support, members of the Linden SAPS and some residents from the area on June 14.
The purpose of this meeting was to receive insight from Love Justice International, an organisation dedicated to battling social injustice.

The agenda for the evening detailed the myths, identification of potential victims as well as prevention tips. Cyan Galvao, a representative from Love Justice International, revealed that since its inception in South Africa in 2016, it had stopped over 665 people from ,being trafficked.
Galvao shared four steps to identifying potential victims of trafficking:
- Is this person someone who matches the profile of someone targeted by traffickers?
- Is this person moving into or is involved in an area or profession known for trafficking?
- Does this person have the resources to stay safe?
- Are there indications that this person is being moved by any means of illegal control?
Galvao urged parents and guardians to inform their children that not all strangers are good. “Have no secrets and keep open communication with children.”
Love Justice International has also launched their Freedom app that aims to assist and monitor people vulnerable to human trafficking.
Linden Police Station Commander Colonel Shaid Abdool thanked everyone that was able to come and added, “Today we leave here better informed. If our communities need to be safe, we need to be active.”
The public is advised to text or call 081 487 9698 or the Human Trafficking Hotline on 080 022 2777.
