A ‘brother in blue’ passes away
Police spokesperson describes the man as a person who always smiled
Honeydew police recently held a memorial for a much-loved officer, Warrant Officer NJ du Plessis, who passed away due to health issues.
Sergeants, captains, colonels and other officers all gave tributes to the man.
Station spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said Du Plessis was his ‘brother in blue’.
“He was the first face I saw at that office and he was a person who always smiled,” Muthan said.
“It is always a sad time when we lose one of our own and we give our condolences to his family and friends.”
The Honeydew Community Policing Forum’s public relations officer Michael Steyn also gave his condolences to Du Plessis’s family and friends.
