Ingo’s Coffee Bar the new ‘Instagrammable’ Cafe in Windsor Glen
A local coffee bar has opened its doors to the community of Windsor Glen and surrounding areas.
The soft opening of the family-run, Ingo’s Coffee Bar, commemorated the family’s step into ‘the third wave of coffee’, which had been of pleasurable service to the Windsor Glen community and surrounding areas at the Windsor Glen Shopping Center.
The coffee bar was named after the family’s German grandfather, Ingo Rehders. It offers a modern and relaxed environment where one could work or study as well as tasty, affordable coffee, freshly baked croissants, cheesecake and one-of-a-kind delicious Franzbrötchen pastry from Hamburg, Germany.
Jordan Coetsee of Ingo’s Coffee Bar said, “After a short introduction of the cafe and the history of the coffee trade which spanned over the last 500 years. We began a group cupping session run by Russel Dube the Barista, where each participant was asked to smell freshly ground coffee and think about what they were smelling.”
A number of fun interactive activities were done on the day that allowed customers to learn and indulge in the different kinds of foods and warm beverages offered on the menu. The snacks had been prepared by Marilyn Sibande, who had shared her creative skills from her previous job. The day ended with a surprise from the talented acoustic musician, Lindo M.
Jozi Coffee Spots and HiddenJoburg – Instagram pages that showcase trendy new places to visit – made an appearance and snapped aesthetically appealing shots of the café.
Coetsee added, “Ingo’s is a hidden Johannesburg gem, designed and run by South Africans. The cafe is a relaxed destination for delicious coffee and a range of wholesome snacks. There are local tasty products and lovely flowers that can be picked up on the way home from work.’
Coetsee appealed to everyone to come by and try out their famous chocolate or crumble Franzbrötchen and some tasty home-baked sandwiches.
