Police hold public engagements in Cosmo City, implement sector policing in the area
Police say they wish to interact more with the community's stakeholders and role players.

Police have increased the number of their community outreaches and engagements in Cosmo City.
Media liaison Warrant Officer Dave Stanton explained officers from Cosmo City Police Station – a sattelite of Honeydew Police Station – are using these engagements to form crime strategies together with the public while maintaining open communication.
“This is vital to enhancing our crime fighting abilities,” he said.

“We value our community’s stakeholders and role players and we say thank you to those who make an effort to make a positive change. I encourage the community to participate in our weekly sector policing meetings.”
At one recent public engagement, Visible Policing support commander, Captain Anna Ramalobe and members of the Gender-Based Violence Brigade spoke about gender-based violence.
“Violence and intimidation in any relationship cannot be tolerated and must be reported,” she said
At another event, Cosmo City Police Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel NJ Mbhele addressed residents of Cosmo City Ext 0 with regard to fighting crime, preventing crime, the concerns of the community, and strengthening partnerships between the community and the police.

Stanton explained with the implementation of sector policing, the Cosmo City precinct had been divided into sectors and they each had community forums and meetings.
Sector 1 incorporates Cosmo City extensions 0, 2, 4, 9 and 10. Sector 2 incorporates extensions 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8. More sectors will be added soon.
