67 Blankets gives winter warmers to Ann Harding Cheshire home

Adults with disabilities receive blankets and scarves from 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela.

Adults with disabilities were so grateful to receive blankets and scarves on what was one of the coldest days of the year so far.

Ann Harding Cheshire Home is a residential care facility that is home to 40 of these people in Northwold. They received bundles of blankets and scarves from 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela on July 21.

The Bromhof-based non-profit organisation meets every week during the year to knit these winter warmers, which are then given to people in need during the year’s coldest season.

“When residents were told they were going to receive blankets they got so excited,” explained the home’s fundraising manager, Jackie Kyle. “It was nice that they thought about our staff, as they are receiving blankets as well.”

67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela ambassador Velly Batlela called it ‘heartwarming’ to be able to give the blankets and scarves away, while meeting the people at the home.

“It is especially worth it when you see a blanket you spent time making given to someone in need,” she smiled.
