Ferndale enjoys ‘soup-and-bread’ event with a focus on wildlife

The Ferndale Residents Association event had a Christmas in July theme with koeksisters, tea and coffee included.

Ferndale residents acquainted and new connected at a fun, informative and filling ‘soup-and-bread’ event hosted by Ferndale Residents Association.

Aside from what the name of the event promised to provide, the gathering was also a Christmas in July experience replete with decorations, a cosy fireplace and a Father Christmas providing a gift for everyone.

Furthermore, guest speaker Dirk Engelbrecht gave a presentation on the work he, and the companies and groups he is part of, do for wildlife in Joburg. He is the CEO and co-founder of WildServe, an urban biodiversity conservation non-profit organisation. He is also chairperson of Friends of Golden Harvest Park and a number of other groups.

This made for great conversation and ensured The Excellence Café was abuzz all afternoon on July 22.
