Just when you thought it was getting warmer: Cold front to hit Johannesburg tomorrow

Johannesburg is set to experience a cold front tomorrow, following the snow that hit Cape Town this week.

Recently, Johannesburg has enjoyed warm temperatures up to 28°C, making it feel like winter was behind us and time to pack away our winter clothes. But, don’t put them away just yet – a cold front is coming.

Regional forecaster, Gauteng Weather, has issued a warning of a cold snap on August 29, the temperature will reach a high of 14°C.

Following strong to gale force winds that battered areas along the coast of Cape Town, the Garden Route, Overberg, Cape Winelands, and Central Karoo ushered icy temperatures in the Western Cape Province on August 27.

Cape Town residents took to TikTok to share videos of snow at Table Mountain on August 28 and to share the frustrations over the cold weather.
