Trailblazers honoured at EmpowaWomen Bubbles & Nibbles soirée

Over 100 women gathered for the EmpowaWomen Bubbles & Nibbles Soirée, where trailblazing women leaders were honoured at the inaugural EmpowaWomen Awards celebrating empowerment and innovation.

Over 100 influential women gathered at the EmpowaWomen Bubbles & Nibbles Soirée, marking the end of Women’s Month. This event saw the launch of the inaugural EmpowaWomen Awards, which recognised outstanding women making significant contributions across various industries and communities.

The EmpowaWomen Awards highlighted trailblazing women who have achieved remarkable success in their fields.

Among the winners are:

  • Maphefo Anno-Frempong the CEO of TETA, received the Lift as You Rise Award for empowering and mentoring women in her industry.
  • Nene Molefi the CEO of Mandate Molefi HR Consultants, was recognised as a Diversity and Inclusion Champion for her commitment to fostering inclusive environments.
  • Sibu Mabena, the founder and chief creative officer of Duma Collective, received the Social Impact Leader Award for her positive contributions to society.
  • Nwabisa Makunga from Sowetan/SANEF was honoured with the Media Impact Award for her role in using media to create positive change.
  • Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka earned the Lifetime Achievement Award for her extraordinary influence and leadership over the years.
  • Gugu Mkhize the CEO of INSETA, won the Trailblazer Award for breaking new ground in her industry.
  • Delia Ndlovu, chairperson of Deloitte, received the Thought-Leader Award for her exceptional strategic thinking and innovation.
  • Tryphosa Romano, founder and director of Magommake Consultancy, was given the Dreamweaver Award for turning her vision into reality.
  • Naomi Lele Ratsheko, owner of 1947 Restaurant, won the Gastronomic Entrepreneur Award for her culinary excellence and commitment to community engagement.

The soirée also featured an intimate fireside chat with Delia Ndlovu, who shared insights on balancing corporate leadership with social impact. Attendees had the opportunity to connect, network, and explore new solutions for transformation in various sectors.
