The school achieved a remarkable 97.6% pass rate with 11 subjects obtaining a 100 pass. They also managed to get 52 Bachelors, surpassing the 48 of the Class of 2023.
This was a big achievement for the school, coming from an 89% pass rate in 2023. Deputy principal Musa Chauke explained that they are excited as they achieved more than what they set out to achieve at the beginning of the year.
“Our target was 95%. This is the group that, throughout the year, showed they could achieve above our target. We were expecting it, but as they wrote their exams, there were small doubts if they were going to reach the target or not. They really surprised us in a way. We are delighted as a school.”
He added that constant meetings with the learners, to remind them about their goal, was one of the factors that helped get these results.

“We also reminded them that the goal is not just to pass matric but to study further. The principal would also talk to the learners, one on one, to find out what they are going through outside of school. That really worked for us. Every Wednesday we would have meetings and invite universities to come and talk to the learners. That motivated them to want to experience that life.”
One of the top achievers, Thuto Khwane, who achieved four distinctions, explained that he is very happy for the school and his classmates for the hard work they put in.
“It is unbelievable, and I am very proud of this school. Thank you to all the teachers for the hard work. There were times where I doubted us, but I am happy we were able to get 97%.”
