The clinic featured representatives from Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ), Johannesburg Water (JW), Human Settlements, and the National Credit Regulator (NCR), each explaining their roles and how they can assist the community. Ward 100 councillor Mduduzi Nhlapho oversaw the event.
The programme opened with a prayer, led by residents, before assistant director Louisa Maphoto provided an overview of how the Ombudsman’s office operates. Bongiwe Gumede, from the Human Rights Commission, followed, offering insight into the commission’s work in protecting citizens’ rights.

Titus Sbeshu, from the Public Protector’s office, outlined its responsibilities, while NCR representative Zonke Majola explained the regulator’s role in consumer protection. Violet Ellise, from the National Financial Ombud Scheme (NFO), also shared details about their work.
After the presentations, a question-and-answer session allowed residents to voice their concerns. One of the pressing issues raised was the long wait for a hospital in the area. Mashudu Phenemene, a resident, urged the panel to intervene, stating: “There is gross negligence of human rights in our area.”
The session provided valuable information and an open platform for residents to engage with officials, raising critical issues affecting the community.
