As residents settle back after the festive break, MCM Running coach Lauren Rolfe is encouraging the community to take the first steps towards a healthier and more active year.
The team believes that the start of a new season is the ideal moment for people to set fresh goals, get moving again, and, finally, commit to the resolutions they often put off.

For Rolfe, 2026 is all about helping runners achieve personal milestones. She aims to support every kind of runner, whether someone is attempting their first 5km or training to finish the Comrades Marathon.
The team says their focus this year is on steady progress, patient guidance, and creating an environment where anyone can grow.
Looking ahead, Rolfe is excited for the challenges the new year will bring. She and the MCM coaches are preparing for new races, fresh training cycles, and the chance to help more runners achieve new personal bests.
Rolfe said the start of the year always brings renewed energy, and they are ready to make the most of it.

MCM also hopes to strengthen its connection with the community in the months ahead. As an inclusive coaching group, they encourage residents not to see fitness as something only for the strong or experienced.
Instead, they want people of all ages and fitness levels to know they are welcome. Their message is simple: No one is too unfit, too old, or too inexperienced to begin.
Their New Year message to the community is clear and direct: Start now.
“Caring for one’s health should be a priority, and I hope 2026 will be the year more residents take that step with us.”
