Bordeaux Primary School learner selected as Best Burger in Joburg judge
Despite being the youngest judge on the panel, Philisiwe Moyo had the time of her life.
On September 6 Anele Mdoda and The Club on 947 held their Best Burger in Joburg finale. In an effort to put together their judging panel, they asked their listeners which profession ate the most burgers.
Wasting no time and using nimble fingers and a sweet little voice, Bordeaux Primary School grade 6 learner Philisiwe Moyo, shared why she felt children ate the most burgers.
Moyo definitely understood the assignment. Her answer won her a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as a special judge for the competition.

“I am very confident. I love being confident because I feel like it brings out your inner braveness,” said Moyo.
She told Anele and The Club that she eats burgers day in and day out and that’s why they should pick her.
“I am that child, you need me there in order for you to make the right decision. You can’t make the right decision without a child.”
Moyo said she had fun being with Anele and The Club.
“Disclaimer: Anele gives very warm hugs.”
Moyo described one of the burgers as being the size of her face.
“There was this one burger that said “marry me”, it was so nice I even had it for lunch.”

She shared for the Best Burger in Joburg winner was Kitchen of Oz which is based in Emmarentia and they claimed their crown in front of a live audience at Montecasino. She says it was their burger that had proposed to her.
“Before I tasted all these burgers I thought McDonald’s burger was the best burger but the Kitchen of Oz, oh, that’s the best burger so far. There was a burger that I didn’t like because I felt it tasted like the one from Steers. I like simple burgers but sometimes you just have to go the extra mile.”
Despite being the youngest judge there, Moyo felt welcomed and made everybody laugh, especially Anele.
“I enjoyed my experience because I felt I was expressing how confident I am and this is who I am.”
Moyo congratulated everyone who had made it to the top six as she felt that it must’ve been tough.
