Organiser Preggie Chetty said the event will be designed to appeal to all ages and interests. “A multicultural show will form a central part of the day, giving young people and adults a stage to showcase their talents in singing, dancing, and other performances. Schools and cultural organisations from churches, temples, and mosques will be invited to take part.”
“This will be an opportunity for amateur performers to develop their skills and for the community to enjoy a variety of entertainment.” Chetty added.
Car lovers can look forward to a Car Show and Shine, featuring old, exotic, and high-end vehicles. “We hope to keep people interested with a great display of cars,” Chetty said.
For shoppers, a flea market area will include stalls selling toys, clothing, books, accessories, and other goods. Food stalls will offer a variety of cultural dishes, with all vendors required to comply with health regulations and hold a Certificate of Acceptability.
Children will have access to a range of low-risk games and rides, such as jumping castles, pedal go-karts, slides, and train rides. There will also be games like bottle-pin knocking and target throwing. Trained staff from the ride suppliers will manage all equipment, and a registered paramedic will be on site for the full day.
The event will end with a free disco starting at 18:00, giving families a chance to enjoy music and dancing together.
Chetty said the organisation is committed to meeting all compliance and legislative requirements, with a dedi “We want this to be an exciting and memorable day for the community while helping those in need,” he said.
Entrance is R20 for adults and R10 for children.
