The discovery of a woman’s body in Bordeaux has raised community concerns. Police confirmed investigations are underway to establish the cause of her death.

Body of woman discovered in Blairgowrie raises concern

Residents of Blairgowrie were left shocked after the body of a woman was discovered on Backston Street this past weekend.

According to Vasco Lutumba, a local resident who was among the first on the scene, he noticed the body lying on the street near a furniture store on Sunday morning. Concerned that people were walking past without acting, he quickly called the police.

“I was a bit traumatised, so I started knocking on doors for help,” Lutumba said. “Everyone was scared, and it seemed the body had been there since the night before.”

Police from Randburg Police Station responded to the call. Lutumba said officers at the scene suggested the woman may have been injured earlier and was heard crying before she was found lifeless.

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed that a report was made and said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Lutumba said he hopes sharing the incident with the media will make the community more aware of safety concerns. “Someone has lost a daughter, and people need to know what is happening in our area,” he said.
