The Blairgowrie Community Association (BCA) is ensuring the community pool is in top condition for the start of the new swimming season, with a series of upgrades being completed ahead of its reopening on September 1.

From renovated change rooms to a freshly painted pool and new umbrella shades, the improvements are designed to provide residents with a more modern, comfortable, and enjoyable facility. The project aims to create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming space for families and residents to enjoy during the warmer months.

As part of the upgrades, the association has already completely refurbished the change rooms, installing new floor and wall tiles to give the facilities a fresh, modern appearance. New sinks have also been fitted, improving both the functionality and comfort of the amenities.

BCA co-director Harold Flieshman explained that the work is continuing around the pool area, with plans to repaint the pool before opening day, giving it a bright new look for the season. “The repairs on changerooms are almost finished. With the pool, we just patched with paint. We are almost there, and we have plenty of time to get things done before the opening. A lot has been done already.”

In addition, umbrella shades will be installed to provide much-needed sun protection, allowing visitors to relax in greater comfort while spending time at the facility.

The reopening in September promises to mark the beginning of another exciting swimming season. Residents are urged to visit the pool once it opens. “We are just waiting on pumps to be switched, and all are working. We will clean and cut the grass, and all residents can come on September 1.”
