The champions took home R20 000, a team kit and gold medals, while the runners-up received R6 000, a team kit and silver medals. The final brought the curtain down on a tournament that once again provided a platform for emerging footballers to showcase their talent. Kanalelo ‘Diskhan’ Phala was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances throughout the competition.

The tournament also attracted notable football figures. Thalente Mbatha, the midfielder who plays for Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana, attended as the guest of honour. He took the opportunity to address the young players in an inspiring speech, encouraging them to remain focused, disciplined and committed as they pursue their football careers. Alongside Mbatha was Putco Khoza, former SuperSport United goalkeeper, who attended the tournament on October 10, and supported the initiative to showcase and develop young football talent.
Sibonelo Zulu of Milford FC, a Betway Premiership side, was also spotted among the crowd, enjoying the action and supporting the tournament’s showcase of local talent.

Siboniso Shabalala of SDEW dedicated the tournament’s success to volunteers who committed their time to on-field administration from the first day of the tournament through to the final day.

“Their contribution played an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the competition,” Shabalala said. “The tournament also reached audiences beyond the stadium, with the matches broadcast live on YouTube courtesy of KCS Media, the tournament’s long-standing partner and sponsor. The partnership helped extend the reach of SDEW Kasi Lethu Games and allowed supporters who could not attend in person to follow the action.”
He added that the tournament continues to use football as a vehicle to identify talent, create opportunities and bring communities together.
