Tee off for charity
Victory Park-based Knights of Da Gama Council No 3 will host its annual golf day in aid of several worthy causes.
The golf day will take place on 5 November at the Randpark Country Club.
The council gives monthly donations to various charities that assist the poor and destitute, including the Mayfair soup kitchen, the Martindale and Victory Park St Vincent de Paul groups, the Mercy Fund, Love of Christ Ministries, St Charbel Helping Hand, and Radio Veritas.
The golf day will cater for between 120 and 144 players, or 30 to 36 four balls. The format will be a four-ball alliance with two scores to count.
Prizes will be awarded to the first 10 four-balls, for nearest to the pin, and for longest drive.
There will also be special prizes for women golfers.
The R2 500 per four-ball entry fee will cover players’ green fees, a halfway house voucher, and a post prize-giving dinner.
A raffle for a wheelbarrow of assorted liquor will be held on the day and advertising on holes will also be available.
Tee-off times will commence off the first and 10th tees at 11.23am.
