Aurora’s young equestrian stars shine

SUNDOWNER – Curro Aurora’s young horse riders had a blast competing in various competitions.

Curro Aurora’s young equestrians have been making their school proud in horse riding competitions during February.

“We are super proud of Megan Ras and her horse Kondos Andraki II, who competed at the South African Junior, Children and Pony Rider Championships,” said head of primary school sport Melissa Parr.
The two Curro Aurora representatives blew the competition away, winning the event and bringing home the title of Children’s South African Supreme Novice Show Pony Champion.

“Megan and her pony managed not to put a foot out of place for the week-long event. The pairing beat out competitors from all over the country to win the prestigious title,” said Parr.
Ras (Grade 7) also finished second in the prelim dressage section, narrowly missing out on winning the prelim dressage title by a half per cent.

Ras joined fellow young riders Caitlin Cunningham (Grade 4) and Madison Caine (Curro Castle) recently at the Sanesa Training Show held at Maple Ridge.
“It was also the first time that Caitlin and Madison have competed for Curro Aurora and we are so proud of our girls,” Parr said.
