Young golfers shine at Curro Aurora

SUNDOWNER – Kaitlyn van de Vyver and Casey Twidale finished first and second in the B-division of the 2021 South African Women’s Stroke Play Championship on 16 February.


Curro Aurora’s young golfers are showing some great sporting promise after finishing in the top two spots in a recent golfing tournament.

Kaitlyn van de Vyver in Grade 6 and Casey Twidale (Grade 7) played in the B-division of the 2021 South African Women’s Stroke Play Championship held at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club on 16 February.
Kaitlyn carded rounds of 95, 79 and 83 to win the 54-hole championship with a score of 257. Casey finished in second place with a score of 263 that included rounds of 90, 86 and 87.

Aurora’s golf manager Melissa Parr congratulated the girls on their success, especially at such a young age.
“We are extremely proud of these two young ladies and impressed with the way in which they conduct themselves when playing against each other,” said Parr.
