Sdew Kasi Lethu Games holds another successful Top 16 U21 Football Tournament
The local NPO is dedicated to fostering local football talent, and providing opportunities for athletes to showcase their skills.
Sdew Kasi Lethu Games, a nonprofit organisation (NPO), held another successful Top 16 U21 Football Tournament at 52 Ground in Zandspruit. In its fourth year, the tournament provides a platform to youngsters to showcase their talent.
The tournament, sponsored by Romen’s Pizza Blue Berry, attracted teams from across Gauteng, with representatives participating from various cities and communities.

Not only was it an opportunity for players to demonstrate their skills and enhance their reputation; it was also a chance for scouts and talent agencies to identify promising young players for potential future opportunities.
The tournament has seen significant growth. This year’s addition was graced by the presence of Veli Khumalo, South Africa’s U17 team and Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge team coach, who has a reputation for identifying talent. His team recently qualified for the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

In June 2025, he was also appointed head coach for the South African team, which reached the final at the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) Cup.
Tournament organiser Zodwa Mabhena explained that the primary purpose of hosting this tournament is to provide a platform and create opportunities for players in the footballing world. ”

We strive to contribute to the development of local talent by offering them a platform to shine and be recognised for their hard work and dedication. Moreover, we are proud that all 16 teams participated well, and that the winners of the tournament were a local football club from Honeydew Zandspruit, called Reajah FC.”
Reajah played against GomTown, a football club from Gomora, in the finals.
They played to a 1–1 draw, but Reajah were crowned champions after a 6-5 victory on penalties, taking home R20 000 and a full kit.
The boys from Gomora didn’t go home empty handed, leaving with R6 000 and a full kit.
