Randburg Photo Club hosts exhibition

RANDPARK RIDGE – Club members meet on the first Thursday of each month at the Randburg Methodist Church hall at 7pm.

The Randburg Photo Club recently hosted the opening of a photographic exhibition for the second successive year at Randpark Golf Club. The exhibition was themed the Ensemble.

All the exhibited images will be placed on display at the Bensusan Museum within the Museum of Africa in Newtown from 30 November until early next year.

Artful pictures by Gauteng Club photographers were on display during the opening. Participating clubs submitted their club winners’ images with a common style and theme. “We are proud to work with the City of Johannesburg to showcase what our Gauteng clubs can produce,” said Jannie du Plessis, the Randburg Photo Club’s chairperson.

He said it was beautiful to see the individual artists’ style and technique on display at the opening evening on 10 November. “This event is all about the beautiful art and promotion of photography,” Du Plessis said.

The evening was complemented with well-known speaker, Johann van der Walt. Du Plessis added,”We also experienced his pictures which showcased what Van der Walt saw and experienced in the towns he travelled in China.”

The Randburg Club members meet on the first Thursday of each month at the Randburg Methodist Church hall at 7pm.

The club also thanked all the photographers who entered the exhibition and invited all members of the public to view the exhibition. “It will be on display on the top floor of the museum and entrance is free. There is safe parking at the newly built Newtown Junction shopping centre and the entrance of the museum is just around the corner from the Market Theatre,” Du Plessis concluded.
