BET star Anika Noni Rose visits Randburg

RANDBURG – Star of BET's The Quad, Anika Noni Rose, visited the Multichoice offices in Randburg as part of her press tour of South Africa on 5 March.

Star of BET’s The Quad, Anika Noni Rose, visited the Multichoice offices in Randburg as part of her press tour of South Africa on 5 March.

While visiting Joburg, the Dreamgirls actress met with Viacom International Media Networks Africa, BET and Multichoice, visiting historical landmarks including Nelson Mandela’s house in Soweto and enjoying the beauty and culture of South Africa.

“I had a braai at the Mandela house and it was so good. I haven’t been eating meat for about a month,” Rose said. “We had an amazing array of vegetables, with braai meat on the side. It was everything it was supposed to be.”

On Broadway, Rose’s powerful voice and presence have made her a darling of the stage, winning a Tony Award for Best Actress in a musical for Caroline, a Theatre World Award and the Lucille Lortel Award for an outstanding featured actress. Other major roles in stage productions include Cat on a hot tin roof, A raisin in the sun and Company.

Anika Noni Rose, visited various landmarks around Joburg, including Nelson Mandela’s house, as part of her press tour.

In television, her career has seen her feature on some of the biggest shows including The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, The Good Wife, Bates Motel and Roots.

The Quad is currently airing its intriguing second season on Mondays at 9.30pm on BET (DStv channel 129).

Hailed as an ‘entertaining guilty pleasure’ by the LA Times, season two continues the struggles of Dr Eva Fletcher as she tries to raise capital for the almost bankrupt college where the show takes place, which may force a merger with another nearby college.
