Triple-threat performer shines

RANDBURG SUN – Pop maven and Stageworx Performing Arts School student, Jeanique, has her eyes set on taking over the music industry one song at a time.

Even though she is only 14 years old, Jeanique has put in admirable lots of blood, sweat and tears into her passion – making her a professional performer in her own right.

“I’ve always performed from a very young [age] and I’ve always loved it so much. I sing, I dance, I act and it just makes me feel so happy,” Jeanique said. Her knack for singing, dancing and acting make her a triple-threat performer, however, following the release of her debut single, Stand A Chance, last year, Jeanique’s appetite for entertaining drew her into the music industry and saw her bring her passion for both music and dance to life.

“My strongpoint was always singing. I’ve always felt that by making my own music, I can make so many other people happy and that made me focus on music more because I can spread it and make everyone happier.”

This time around, the young entertainer made an explosion onto the pop music scene with a brand-new release, Pyramid, written and produced by South African pop sensation Daniel Baron, who is renowned for working with up-and-coming artists.

“It was absolutely amazing working with Daniel. The first time we met we just clicked and became friends instantly. It was such a nice process to work with him because everything just came together so well and so quickly.”

Having previously been part of various dance crews and been part of the popular Born To Perform, Night With The Stars and Jonathan Roxmouth’s The Musicals stage productions, Pyramid sees a brand-new sonic direction for the young pop star and is certainly the start of a new era in her career.

The single has already been included in Apple Music’s ‘Hot Tracks’ and ‘Best of the Week’ playlists. Inspired by the likes of Billie Eilish, Anne-Marie, Twenty One Pilots and Bastille, Jeanique said she was not only determined to create pop music that comes from the heart and identifies with her audience but she also wanted to inspire young people through her music.

“My journey has been pretty hard but also exciting. If you want to make it in this industry you have to work extremely hard, but, I’ve always taken the work head-on and try push through it and give my best.

It’s also been a fun journey because everything is my passion and I love working hard at it,” said Jeanique. With her eyes set on global stardom, Jeanique said she hopes to release a few more singles before dropping an album and then touring the world.
