Drakensberg Boys Choir to perform at the Liberty Church during their tour
Drakensburg Boys Choir will be performing at Piazza at Melrose Arch, to Heidelberg Klipkerk, Moreletapark Kerk Pretoria and Liberty Church for its 2022 Noël Tour.
Get swept up in the magic of Christmas when the Liberty Church in Randburg comes alive on November 29 with the sound of Carols performed by the Drakensberg Boys Choir on their 2022 Noël Tour.
The member of the choir, from Blairgowrie Wade Breedt shared his emotions about the tour with Randburg Sun.
“I am 15 years old this year, so I am in Grade 9 – this is my last year at Drakies. Therefore, this is going to be my last Noël Tour. I have mixed emotions for this Noël Tour because it’s not always happy stuff because I am leaving and it will be my last tour with the school,” said Breedt
“It is the last time I will get to tour with my friends, next year it is a whole different chapter of my life, it is the last Christmas I will have basically with my friends. But the Christmas Spirit is still there, it’s exciting, I am looking forward to it,” he told Randburg Sun
The much-loved and uniquely South African Drakensberg Boys Choir has been captivating local and international audiences for over 55 years with its high-energy performances, versatility, stamina, and raw talent.
Carols like Fanfare for Christmas, O Holy Night, and Silent Night will be among many carols to be performed by the choir.Brett Fernihough of Drakensberg Boys Choir said,” I feel like the tour to Gauteng is going to be an amazing experience for the whole choir because it will just be nice to get out the school, go see the world out there. It will just be a very good opportunity to get better at the things we do. It will be amazing with the Christmas Spirit, all the amazing carols that we are going to be doing, the programmes we are going to be singing for the public, it will be awesome.”
