Biker seriously injured in horrific accident
Apart from other injuries, the driver of the bike is said to have sustained a broken wrist and fractured fingers.
A man was critically injured and is currently recovering at the Leratong hospital after a motorcycle he was traveling on smashed into a BMW on the Randfontein Road on 20 November.
This was at approximately 7.30am and according to a traffic officer at the scene, the biker was travelling from the direction of Randfontein towards Leratong when the incident occurred.
The driver of the BMW was travelling on the Main Reef Road from the direction from Krugersdorp towards Randfontein when he made a wrong turn at a slipway.
“It is understood that the driver of the BMW was driving from Krugersdorp when he entered the slipway instead of proceeding straight ahead.
“He realized that he turned too soon and wanted to make a U-turn and that is when the biker drove into him,” says the Officer.
Authorities at the scene suspected that the driver of the BMW turned suddenly without making use of his indicators, however investigations into the case are underway.
The driver of the bike is said to have sustained a broken wrist, fractured fingers and other injuries.
The driver of the BMW as well as a passenger escaped unharmed.
