Sefa roadshows to visit Randfontein

The Small Enterprise Finance Agency will soon visit Randfontein to host a roadshow for local entrepreneurs.

The Small Enterprise Finance Agency (Sefa) will be engaging entrepreneurs in Randfontein on 23 January as part of ongoing national roadshows to inform communities about availability of funding for small businesses.

Currently Sefa has conducted 23 national roadshows.

In Gauteng, events were held in Soweto, Alexander and Hammanskraal and is scheduled to visit Randfontein.

Well-established and budding entrepreneurs in the West Rand including Westonaria and surrounding areas are welcome to attend the event.

Established in 2012 as a subsidiary of the IDC, Sefa’s mandate is to provide funding to entrepreneurs who need funding from as little as R500 to R5 million as a vehicle to creating jobs and alleviating poverty.

These loans are made available through Sefa’s Direct and Wholesale Lending as well as credit guarantee schemes with banks.

In its very first year of existence Sefa has approved funding to the value of R440 million which represents about 78,5 per cent of its set target for the year, and almost half of the amount was dispersed.

The agency is a result of the merger between the South African Micro Apex Fund, Khula Enterprise and the small business activities of the IDC.

Sefa will be assisted in its presentation by its partners including the Department of Economic Development (EDD), Industrial Development Corporations (IDC), Small Business Development Agency (SEDA) and South Africa Revenue Services (SARS).
