Event organiser and founder of Arebueng, Nozi Mapena, who is also the Social Development MMC, called for an oncology centre in the West Rand to reduce the travel costs and challenges faced by patients seeking treatment at hospitals in Soweto and Johannesburg.

Cancer survivors Puleng Sekonyela and Mamosa Khoadi also participated to encourage awareness and support for those affected by the disease.
