Skate park at the Randfontein Show

The new skate park at the Randfontein Show has proven to be a hit among Randfontein residents.

The Randfontein Show now has a new form of entertainment in the form of a skate park.

This is for the first time ever since the inception of the show 28 years ago.

According to founder of Pan African Skateboarding Consultants Kgosi Marite, this is something he always wanted for the community of Randfontein and the West Rand.

“We wanted to have a place where the youth would gather instead of just galavanting in the streets.

“We made a proposal to various companies to sponsor the materials to build the park.

“Fortunately a few local companies came to the table and sponsored the resources to build the park,” says Marite.

He adds that this will provide entertainment for the show goers during the Randofntein Show.

The park was built in December last year.

According to him, this will also help keep children off the streets after the festivities of the Randfontein Show.

For more information on the skate park and any skating competitions that will be happening at the show contact Marite on 082 573 2687.
