Church vehicle stolen from under pastor’s nose
'It is particularly sad because the vehicle was a gift to the church'
A Toekomsrus pastor is disgusted after his vehicle was stolen while on duty and supporting an initiative for a good cause recently.
“I was invited by the Department of Social Development, some N.G.O’s and the pastor’s forum to attend the launch of the “Adopt a Gogo” initiative at the Toekomsrus Community Hall. The meeting went well and the address of the MEC, the Honorable Faith Mazibuko was motivating and well accepted,” Pastor Paul Claasen explained to the herald.
After the motivational gathering Claasen was very upset and sad when he got to the parking lot and saw that his Toyota Hilux bakkie (Reg: JDZ951GP) was stolen.
“It is particularly sad because the vehicle was a gift to the church that we use to spread the word of God in our communities,” Claasen said.
He explained further that he was very surprised and disappointed that there wasn’t security measures in place for the vehicles outside and blames government.
“When we attend such meetings we expect that the safety of us and our cars would be taken care of. The matter was reported to the local MMC, Thembi Matuwane, Regional and Provincial representative and the pastors but up to date there have been no response from any of them.
Claasen added despite this mishap he will keep on doing the work of God which includes taking care of the people and praying for the government.
