Two arrested for stabbing man to death

Friend stands and watch as two men stabs victim to death.

Randfontein police have arrested two men believed to be responsible for the death and stabbing of a 30-year-old in Mohlakeng recently.

According to Randfontein police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, “The victim and a friend was allegedly walking home from a tavern when the victim stopped behind an electrical box to urinate.

“According to the witness, he then kept on walking but was stopped in his tracks when he heard the desperate screams from the victim.

“He saw two men allegedly stabbing his friend and then they ran off. The victim fell to the ground and passed away shortly after from stab wounds to his upper body.”

Police who were called out to the scene were able to arrest the two suspects shortly after the incident.

The men arrested is 19 and 24 years of age respectively. Their first appearance in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court was on Tuesday last week but the case was postponed to Thursday 18 December.

Police are still busy with investigations as to the motive behind the attack.
