Where to get your matric results

No fuss matric results via SMS and USSD by the Department of Basic Education.

It is that time of year again where anxious pupils await their matric exam results.

The matric results will officially be released on Tuesday 6 January.

It is customary to buy a newspaper in order to see whether or not the efforts in the exams were good enough to obtain a pass. In case you are unable to find a newspaper, you can now receive your result via SMS and USSD as well as other mobile applications.

The service is available until 31 January, 2015 and is in partnership with the Department of Basic Education.

Register via SMS:

  • Send an SMS to 35658 (SMSes cosr R3).
  • In the SMS, you will send your exam number followed by your ID number.
  • After successfully registeration, you will receive their results on the day of release.

USSD:

  • USSD is a text based conversation.
  •  Dial *120*35658#, then type in your ID number and you will receive your results per subject (USSD rates apply).
