Another body discovered in two months

Police launches investigation into the cause of death.

The body of yet another man was discovered in just two months, this time in a building at Riebeeck Lake over the weekend.

The herald was informed that a member of a local security company discovered the body.

The deceased is said to be 47 years of age and believed to be a homeless man who allegedly slept on the premises illegally. There were no visible injuries on the body and subsequently no foul play is suspected.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of death.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, “It bears mentioning that Riebeeck Lake is the property of the Randfontein Council and is off limits to everybody since it has been closed after a spate of criminal activity in the area.

“Any person found on the property will face charges of trespassing.”

Warrant Officer Disco Thieane is the investigating officer and anybody with information that could lead to tracing the deceased’s family is requested to contact him on 011 278 8100.
