One killed as vehicle crashes into truck
ER24: The vehicle overturned several times and collided with an oncoming truck.
One person was killed and another sustained moderate injury when their vehicle collided with a truck on the N12 in Westonaria.
According to Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson, “Shortly after 1am on Sunday, paramedics arrived on the scene where they found a Toyota Corolla on the side of the road. The vehicle had severe damage.
“Two people were found inside the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was found with fatal injuries and declared dead on the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was found with shoulder injuries. He was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Fountains Hospital for further care.
It is understood that the vehicle was traveling towards Potchefstroom when the driver apparently lost control.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
The incident was handed over to the local police for further investigation.
