Mzi Khumalo, Randfontein Executive Mayor has been attending various churches as part of his last days as mayor of Randfontein as a single entity towards a merger with Westonaria as of 3 August.
He was with an entourage which consisted of Clr Lazarus Matshuisa the MMC for Public Safety and Harry Matsitse Manager in the Chief Whip Office.
During his attendance at Mohlakeng St Paul’s Anglican Church he was welcomed by Father Bradley Moloi who gave him a spiritual hope in his bid as mayoral candidate for the coming city of Rand West .
Father Moloi gave him a message of hope , he however cautioned him of trials and tribulations he is to be faced with.
“Don’t change your ways in your leadership, they will trample on your toes. God is there for protection, don’t loose hope.
You have to look back through tribulations in order to see God”.
Khumalo told the congregation that as he is about to finish his term he had the obligation to look for devine intervention in the same manner as he took role of leadership. He went out to explain the new entity of Rand West City and appealed to the community to embrace this new concept of a merger of the two towns.
He said that he was appointed by his party the ANC to take the role of mayoral candidate of the new city.
“Building a city require men and women who will make sure that this become a reality, we will continue to improve service delivery.”
