Nine injured after bakkie rolls

Several patients who had been on the back of the bakkie were found lying around on the scene.

Nine people were injured after a bakkie rolled off the Hillshaven road in Westonaria during the morning of Thursday, 9 November.

According to Russel Meiring , the ER24 spokesperson, “Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie lying upright on a mound of dirt on the side of the road.

Several people who had been on the back of the bakkie were found lying around on the scene.

“On assessment, paramedics found that nine patients had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road and roll multiple times.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
