For 30 years, the Best of Joburg Readers’ Choice Awards have been celebrating the people, businesses and places that make Joburg such a vibrant, buzzing city. You’ve seen those much-coveted Best of certificates proudly displayed; you’ve probably had your own favourites over the years, and now there’s something new to get excited about … Joburg West has its own!

The Best of Joburg West Readers’ Choice Awards are putting the spotlight on the businesses, people and places that make Joburg West such a great place to live, work, shop, eat and play.

And before you get to vote, we need your help finding the businesses that deserve to be in the running.

From September 15 to 29, we’re inviting you, our readers, to nominate as many of your favourites as you like to see them make it through to the voting stage. Think about the places you love and the businesses you’re always telling friends about. The steakhouse you’d happily eat at every Friday. The bakery worth breaking your diet for. The spa that has you feeling human again. The biltong spot you’d drive across town for. The shop you pop into for one thing and leave with five. Or that hairdresser who somehow gets your hair right every single time.

Maybe it’s the school you’d recommend to every parent, the pet business where your fur babies get the VIP treatment, or that little local gem you’re convinced everyone needs to know about.
