Six injured in weekend crash

Six people were left injured after the bakkie they were travelling in crashed into a ditch in Glenharvie on the morning of Sunday, 17 June.

Six people were left with minor to moderate injuries after the bakkie they were travelling in crashed into a ditch on South Deep Road in Glenharvie on the morning of Sunday, 17 June.

Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, said paramedics, along with the Provincial Services, arrived on the scene at 5.20am to find the bakkie on the side of the road in a small ditch.

“Six people were found seated around the vehicle. Paramedics assessed them all and found that they had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries or any fatalities on scene.”

Meiring also said the patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care.

“Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” Meiring added.
