Criminals focused on Greenhills and Helikon Park this past weekend

Local security company reveals that crime picked up in Greenhills and Helikon Park over the weekend.

Crime was on a high this past weekend, especially in Greenhills and Helikon Park.

According to Johan Booysen, managing director of EPR as well as Mac van Zyl, operational manager of the security company, their latest statistics revealed that they attended to 19 cases of crime during the weekend from Friday, 1 November to Sunday, 3 November.

Two of the crimes were robberies, three were damage to property, two were medical-related, there were six house robberies and six cases of theft.

Booysen said Greenhills and Helikon Park were targeted the most. EPR Randfontein had five cases of crime in Greenhills reported to them, and six cases in Helikon Park.

Ma Van Zyl explained that in general they receive about 30 000 alarm signals, of which a small number are emergencies. The rest are false alarms.
